Choosing the Right Doctor

Firstly, find a doctor whom you feel comfortable with.

During the first session, most doctors will have a preliminary consultation. That being said, it would be good to prepare related medical, psychological, or sexual history.  In some cases, tests (eg. testosterone level) may also be conducted.

Subsequently, your doctor will prescribe the appropriate erectile dysfunction treatment.  In general, most doctors will suggest pills (eg. Viagra, Cialis) or wave therapy. Additionally, diet or lifestyle changes (eg. exercising more) may also be recommended.

However, patients with certain conditions may need to consult a specialist. Otherwise, treatment may not be effective. After the condition is under control, ED treatment can begin.

Seek Medical Treatment

Although “alternative” treatments may seem enticing, many of them are not backed by clinical studies. In most cases, people are lured in by their cheap prices and online availability. In some instances, the products are marketed as “chocolates” or “candies”. As a result, people see no harm in trying them.

However, these products may be harmful. In addition to not helping the problem, they may also have harmful side effects. For example, incidences of heart attacks and strokes have been reported. For that reason, it is best to look for treatments that are HSA or FDA approved. Whenever possible, avoid shoddy sellers.
